This not a peace project, but an official call for a new colonial regime

Donald Trump talks about peace, but what he is proposing is a blank check for Israel to continue what it is already doing: violence, occupation, settlements. The only clear timetable is for the release of Israeli hostages. What about  the thousands of Palestinian prisoners? Silence. What about the West Bank? Nothing more than silence.

Donald Trump talks about “international governance” under himself and Tony Blair, that is, a new colonial regime in Gaza, as if not a day had passed since the time of the British Mandate in Palestine. The decisions about the future of the Palestinians will once again be made by Washington, London and Tel Aviv.

This is not a peace plan. It is a political deception, a proposal for occupation under  another name. It is a declaration that Israel can continue to kill, imprison and uproot, as long as it does so with the  shield of the White House.

New Left unequivocally denounces this mockery.  Peace andJustice can only be built with:

• recognition of a Palestinian state,

• immediate end to the occupation,

• release of all political prisoners,

• respect for international law and human rights.

Gaza does not need new “guardians”. Gaza needs freedom.

As long as Trump and his ilk sell “peace” without justice, we are determined to  remind everyone: No peace without freedom. No peace without justice !
