Last night, the Greek mission set sail from Syros to join the international solidarity fleet Global Sumud Flottila.
This is a brave undertaking, aimed at breaking the illegal blockade of Gaza and conveying the global message of humanity and solidarity.
I send my warmest greetings to the crew of the Greek mission, and I am also proud that our comrade MP and Secretary of our Parliamentary Group, Pete Perka, is among them.
The Right-wing government has done nothing to stop the genocide of the Palestinian people.
The Left is showing the way of solidarity and defense of humanity in the making.
The Global Sumud Flottila must reach its destination: Gaza.
Our job is to do everything in our power to make sure that this goal will be achieved.
Let’s pressure the Greek government to do the bare minimum: to guarantee the safety of the mission against the authoritarian practices of a state that does not respect the rules of international law.
The Global Sumud Flottila is our voice, so its journey is also our journey.
